Synopsis
Bologna, 2 August 1980.
The most ferocious attack in the history of the Republic, the cynical attempt to overthrow democracy, a bloody blow against the defenseless population that is leaving for vacation.
The terrorists make only one mistake: having chosen Bologna as their target.
Rescue was immediate, the city manifested its indignation by '''reoccupying''' the squares perceived as '''places of democracy''' and immediately, through the voice of the ''then mayor of Bologna Renato Zangheri and the ''image imprinted in the collective memory of the then President of the Republic Sandro Pertini, The demand for truth and justice is strongly raised.
The investigations of the Bolognese magistrates and the constant commitment of the Association of the victims' families lead for the first time to identify and condemn the material executors of the massacre: the neo-fascists of the NAR (Revolutionary Armed Nuclei); and the misleads who immediately hindered the ascertainment of the truth: Licio Gelli's P2 and the highest levels of the security services, maneuvered from the first.
From mourning an idea of civil society is reborn that from mourning elaborates a commitment and a collective strategy that sees in the younger generations, still too uninformed and disenchanted, the main antidote to the occult plots that since Piazza Fontana have poisoned and still poison today, thanks also to the "drunkenness of the mass media, our democracy.
