Synopsis

A journalist and a musician met in Latina in 2005 and decided to create a music broadcast on a local TV.

The program is initially dedicated to the realities of the territory and then moves on to host musicians from all over Italy who will contribute to telling, through interviews and performances, different ways of experiencing art from the second post-war period to the beginning of the twenty-first century.

The docu-film is also an opportunity to talk about the evolution of the language of local television, from its birth to the switch-off to digital terrestrial.

The R-S was shot with a smartphone.

Director's notes

When I was presenting, with Maria Corsetti, the television program Gli amici della musica, I found myself working with makeshift means, sometimes without the certainty of being able to record the episodes. But the guests continued to come on the show, they were able to describe the world of music to viewers effectively.

I decide to tell this adventure that lasted 6 years in a documentary. Where to start? From the recovery of old episodes? Certainly, but I think it is important to make the shots with the same freedom, the same imperfections that characterized the television program. At this point it is the proposal of Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg that attracts me: the "technological storm" described by Dogma 95 is not over, the smartphone is the ideal camera to carry out the project.

La-R-S was not shot in compliance with the rules proposed by Dogma 95, it was inspired by the manifesto of the two Danish directors.
