Synopsis

Ines has always lived in La lastra
a farm in the Apennines
which dominates the Rhine valley.
He has two cows, a calf,
a dog, a cat,
15 rabbits,
8 hens, 7 chicks
and a life. By Ines.

Old agricultural machinery introduces a world of work and silence, where the daily fatigue of existence is concrete: the world of Ines.

Ines Vignudelli is an eighty-two-year-old peasant woman who lives in stubborn solitude at "La lastra", the farm in the Bolognese Apennines where she was born and raised.

Ines' vitality and warmth take the viewer by the hand and ferry him into a silent world, marked by cycles whose return is never repetition, but eternal becoming.

Ines' life reveals itself to be a life in the present, a dance with irregular time, now wide and calm, now rapid and effective. Her eyes look at the world with the naivety of a child and with the wisdom of someone who, without rhetoric, confesses: "we are like autumn leaves".
