Synopsis

The documentary recounts, through the testimonies of a dozen witnesses, the tragic months of the spring of 1944. The city of Parma occupied by the Nazi-Fascists was the object of repeated Anglo-American air raids from April to June 1944: the targets were mainly military, but in reality the whole city – including the monumental historic center – was the object of devastating bombings.

The first-person account of those who lived through those dramatic days is intertwined with a gigantic photographic archive, the result of a very long research work, and with a very rare period film made by photographer Bruno Vaghi, a passionate amateur filmmaker who filmed the city under the bombs and rubble of the following days.
